So what exactly is cavity wall insulation
Most houses built after 1935 were constructed with a cavity. The cavity is the gap between the inner and the outer wall which fortunately can be insulated with our premium bead product. The external walls are drilled to a specific drill pattern to ensure the cavity is filled correctly and the bead is pumped in with a light coating of glue to ensure the bead is properly bonded. Once the cavity is insulated the drill holes are filled with mortar to match the existing mortar lines of your property as near as possible. All the work is carried out externally and can take around half a day to complete causing minimal disruption to the homeowner.
0% VAT
The government recently announced that they have cut VAT to 0% on insulation and renewable measures. This will be in place from April 2022 to 2027 making it a perfect time to upgrade the energy efficiency of your home and benefit from another saving.
Funding
There may be an opportunity for funding cavity wall insulation under the government's ECO4 scheme. This is where energy companies have an obligation to provide funding for the worst performing housing and is available for households with low incomes, in receipt of the qualifying benefits and a low property EPC rating.
